A little bit about me
- I have worked with people with disability since 2020.
- I would describe my practice as collaborative, empowering, evidence-based, family-centred, goal-oriented, holistic, neurodiversity-affirming, person-centred, skill-building, strengths-based and task-oriented. I adapt my approach so each person receives support that fits their goals and circumstances.
- I enjoy spending time cooking, going to live music gigs, going to the theatre, playing board games, playing sport, reading, video gaming, watching movies, watching TV Shows, with family or friends and with my dog - interests that often help spark connection with the people I support.
- People I work with often describe me as approachable, calm, collaborative, compassionate, confident, friendly, inclusive, kind, organised, thoughtful and understanding, which reflects the environment I aim to create when delivering support.
In my free time
What I love most about supporting people with disabilities is how rewarding the job is. Being able to play a role in improving someone’s quality of life is incredibly fulfilling.
My passion for disabilities began when I met my first autistic child whilst working as an educator. This experience ignited my drive to better understand behaviours and explore strategies to support individuals and their unique needs. My passion for disabilities grew from here.
I enjoy the process of discovering what works best for each person. I have a passion for identifying triggers and implementing strategies that best support the individual. I love supporting people to develop regulation strategies and access the support they need.
I believe everyone has the right to access the support, resources, and opportunities they need to live a fulfilling life. Being able to contribute to that is something I’m truly passionate about.
